Formed Patina Copper Leaf Pendant With Hook and Eye Clasp

The veins of the leaf were stamped into flat copper sheet. The sheet was then folded and cut out into a leaf shape. I then hand formed the edges to give the leaf character and drilled a hole to attach the pendant bail. I formed the bail from copper wire. The end hook and eye are made from copper tube and hand forged copper wire. The copper pieces were then covered in a salt solution and placed a sealed container with a little ammonia for three days. The dark patina with blue hi-lights is the result. All the copper was gently scrubbed with an old toothbrush and soap and water. The patina is sealed with three coats of Polycrylic. A slim leather cord completes the piece, with the ends glued into the tube ends. The pendant hangs about 1.625” long on an 18” cord, and is about 1.125” wide.

Copper and Sterling Silver Leaf Earrings

Pure copper leaves attached to a rectangle shaped sterling silver sheet that has been hammered. The leaves have a three dimensional quality to them. The sterling silver has been hammered and a patina applied to make it look like a stone. The fall season can be so pretty when the leaves first start to change and fall covering the stones beside a creek in a thin layer. The earrings are finished off with a hand made sterling silver earwire.

The earrings hang at almost 1 3/4" and are a touch over 1/2" wide.

New Copper and Sterling Silver Earrings on Etsy

Go places wearing these hammered copper and sterling silver crescent shaped drops. These are a great earring for any occasion. Made from pure copper sheet and sterling silver you get the great look of warm copper and cool sterling silver. The earrings have been shaped with a slight dome to give it dimension. I then applied a patina to further bring out the details. The earrings have been polished to have a good shine to them. The whole earring was finished off with a hand formed sterling silver earwire.

The earrings hang at just under 2 1/4" and are just under an inch at their widest point.

Forged Organic Copper and Brass Earrings

These earrings are hand fabricated from brass rod forged into a tapered, annieled, formed and woven through the hand formed copper sheet. The brass is then soldered to the sheet. The earwires feature matching forged brass with sterling silver wire wrapped and soldered, then formed and lightly hammered to retain their shape. The copper has a liver of sulfur patina applied and lightly sanded to show the high points. An application of microcrystalline wax helps protect the finish. They hang about 2.25” long and about .75” wide.

The earrings are listed on etsy. http://www.etsy.com/listing/75732285/forged-organic-copper-and-brass-earrings

Late Mother's Day

I finished these simple earrings as a late Mother's Day gift for my Mom.  The design goes with the jasper necklace I made for her birthday earlier this year.

New Earring Designs

I have created five new earrings.  I tried the 3 dots with a tail using rivets instead of soldering on the three dots for a new variation on my design.

Flower Pendant

Robin finished a delightful flower pendant of sterling silver with a amathyst stone.

Robin also designed and hand made some sterling silver earrings with bezel set lapis and a copper swirled line soldered on the side.  The contrast and play of complimentary colors make the blue really stand out.

She is currently working on a red jasper piece and a larimar piece.

I was able to finish several earrings and have a couple very close to completion.  I am excited about a organic shaped piece of formed copper with forged brass intertwined.

Leaf Hearts Earrings

Copper sheet was stamped with chisel to create the veins of the leaf, then it was folded. The outline shape was drawn on and cut out with small shears. The edges were filed and sanded and hole added for ear wire. The piece was then annealed and formed over a wooden form to create the movement of the leaf. Liver of sulfur was applied to add contrast and the piece was sanded and lightly polished. The pieces are finished with microcrystalline wax to help preserve the finish and hand crafted sterling silver earwire added. The earrings are about 1” wide and 1.125” long and hang about 1.5" including earwire.
